We were satisfied with the results, as the fermentation temperature reached 70 to 80˚ C even in the middle of winter. (Introduced by Kagome Iwaki Onahama Greenfarm)
Introduction history of EasyJet
We introduced EasyJet in 2010. Our department that had composted tomato leaves and fruit until then had no dedicated manager, and the person in charge of greenhouses was responsible for both.
We processed slightly more than 1,000 tons of leaves and fruit annually, and this figure has increased year on year as we make more tomato shipments.
Because there was no dedicated staff in charge, we could not track the conditions of compost in a timely manner, so the compost turned to a sludge like substance. We took no action until wastewater was generated, so there were foul odors that brought complaints from our neighbors.
At that time, we were disposing of slightly less than 300 tons of sludge compost, and the cost of processing it was several million yen.
The reason we chose Miraie
There are few composting companies that sell their systems confidently for problems such as compost fermentation, foul odor, and waste water treatment, perhaps because there is not much demand. We decided to go with Miraie’s system because the president of the company and the sales staff could recommend their system with confidence.
Before introducing EasyJet, the fermentation temperature was as low as 40˚ to 50˚ C. Now, even in winter, the temperature reaches 70˚ to 80˚ C within 2 to 3 days after inputting materials.
We’ve had no major system problems since introduction, and the only maintenance it requires is nozzle replacement.
