Increased processing amount and reduced electricity bills by recycling sludge and vegetable waste (Introduced to: Company N)
By introducing high pressure aeration, the processing amount was increased drastically. Reduced the electricity bill for aeration
|Processed Material and Amount||100 tons/day sludge, cut vegetables, etc.|
|Overview||By introducing high pressure aeration, the processing amount was increased drastically. Reduced the electricity bill for aeration.|
Measures and Effects
|Increase the amount processed by expanding facilities/equipment||By expanding their compost shed, they increased the amount processed.|
|Increase processing amount by improving aeration||By introducing high pressure aeration, fermentation in winter was stabilized, and the fermentation period was shortened from 60 days to 45 days, thereby increasing the amount processed.|
|Raise fermentation temperature by improving aeration||With high pressure aeration, it became possible to raise fermentation temperature in a short period even in winter, thereby shortening the fermentation period.|
|Reduce electricity bills||Until now, the multi stage blower incurred high electricity bills, but by switching to a high pressure aeration system, they were able to cut their electricity bills by more than half.|
Company N recycles sludge, garbage, and other waste into compost, and they receive 21,000 tons of waste per year.
They needed to get more composting equipment to keep up with their growing food waste business operations, and decided to introduced EasyJet.
In their expanded facility, they mix the food waste they received with wood chips and deposit these materials in the compost shed for fermentation. EasyJet is embedded in the floor, and it raises the temperature by promoting fermentation with high pressure aeration.
Until now, Company N had a blower installed in its existing equipment to do aeration, but they decided to introduce EasyJet because it is crucial for them to raise fermentation temperature in winter.
Before introducing EasyJet, processing was done only with a blower and took 45 days in total. After introducing EasyJet, processing was shortened to 28 days in total; 7 days with EasyJet and 21 days with a blower.
As a result, they expanded the fermentation tank area by 23%, and thereby increased the amount processed by 40%.
They achieved a tremendous economic benefit.
Fermentation temperature rises reliably even in severe winter conditions, so the director of this facility gave high praise to EasyJet, saying “We see that this technology makes it possible to produce higher quality compost in a shorter period of time.”
