2021.09.18 HEATERLESS
Composting of livestock manure and garbage multiplied by 1.6 times (Introduced to: Compost Company W)
By introducing high pressure aeration, the processing amount was increased drastically. Reduced the electricity bill for aeration
Place | Iwate Prefecture |
Processed Material and Amount | Cow and pig manure, garbage, 1,600 tons/month |
Overview | They use a rotary blower, but processing is delayed in winter. Their compost shed is corroding due to condensation and steam |
Measures and Effects
Compost Company W has its processing facility in Iwate Prefecture, and manufactures fertilizer using livestock manure and garbage.
Their facility has an annual processing capacity of 1,600 tons, but processing is delayed in winter, and condensation and steam caused the compost shed to corrode.

Therefore, they introduced three Heaterless hot air generators to Fermentation Tank (1) and two to Fermentation Tank (2).
After introduction, the temperature rose by 10˚ C or more, causing the oxygen concentration to rise to about 14% to 15% and aerobic fermentation to proceed.
As a result, the amount processed increased to 1.6 times what it was before introduction, achieving the original goal of increasing the amount of compost processed. They also suppressed corrosion inside the compost shed, and composting proceeded without delay.
