99% of Odors Removed from Composting Equipment! (Client: Pig Farm)

We present a case where the shift from sawdust deodorization to MIRAIE Biological Deodorization (porous deodorization) resulted in instant odor improvement at a pig farm.

Livestock Manure
Issue
Suppress the odor generated by the composting facility

Before Installation (Sawdust Deodorization)

A rotary composting device was installed in the rear house, where ammonia-based odors were generated.

Introduction of “MIRAIE Biological Deodorizing Equipment”

The box in the foreground is the deodorization tank. A duct was installed from the house to the deodorization tank, and MIRAIE Biological Deodorization (porous glass deodorization) was filled in the tank to remove the odors.

Porous glass deodorization is filled inside the tank.

99% Odor Removal!!

The odor level decreased from 140 ppm before deodorization to 2 ppm after treatment, achieving a 99% removal rate.

Before Deodorization 140 ppm

After Deodorization 2 ppmm

Approximately 90% Odor Suppression After Expansion of Fermentation Equipment

Later, the farm introduced a vertical fermentation device. By connecting the compost gas exhaust to the deodorization tank in addition to the rotary tank, the exhaust gas volume increased and the exhaust gas concentration rose to 700 ppm.

Currently, the surface of the deodorization tank shows around 70 ppm, with a 90% removal rate.
