Overview of Composting at Sludge Composting Facility in Aichi Prefecture
At the sludge composting center, there are separate buildings for the primary and secondary fermentation stages, and the secondary fermentation building lacked deodorization equipment.
As a result, the humidity inside the fermentation building became very high, around 90%, leading to condensation and corrosion of the building.
High humidity in the facility also impeded moisture evaporation during composting, resulting in longer composting times.
Issue Before Installation
Issue 1: High odor concentration in the secondary fermentation tank.
Issue 2: The humidity in the secondary fermenter is high, causing condensation in the building. Moisture evaporation is not progressing well.
Issue 3: To take all possible measures to prevent odors and to consider the surrounding environment.
Introduction of “MIRAIE Biological Deodorizing Equipment” in the secondary fermentation building
While the primary fermentation building was equipped with rock wool deodorization equipment, installing similar equipment in the secondary fermentation building would have been significantly expensive.
Therefore, it was necessary to have equipment that, even in small quantities, provided high removal effectiveness for adequate ventilation in the secondary fermentation building.
The newly installed deodorizing equipment for the secondary fermentation building uses porous glass.
It has the same area as the existing equipment but can process three times the exhaust gas.
This is the inside of the deodorization tank. Porous glass deodorizer is filled under the net.
More than 7 times more effective in improving odor
Above is a table summarizing the effects of the installation.
Three times as much exhaust gas is flushed through the existing rockwool deodorization system, and almost completely removed.
The removal effect was more than seven times higher than that of rockwool.
Water content was reduced and composting was successfully completed in a short period of time
After the installation of the porous glass deodorizer, the humidity in the fermentation building also decreased and the moisture transpiration rate during composting increased significantly.
The moisture content of the finished compost was
Before Delivery 60% → After Delivery 40%
and it became possible to produce high quality compost in a short period of time.
Introduction of the Product
MIRAIE Biological Deodorizing Equipment
Four Times the Removal Capacity of Conventional Biological Deodorizers
Odor problems plague many compost producers. The porous glass device solves the problems of conventional deodorization technologies in terms of performance, cost, and installation area.
